Yellow Fever

Yellow Fever is an acute infection spread by the bite of an infected mosquito in tropical Africa and South America. There is no specific treatment for yellow fever when caught and it can be a fatal disease. It is spread by the Aedes Aegypti mosquito.

Yellow Fever vaccination is used to protect individuals at risk of yellow fever disease and also to stop the international spread of yellow fever. The vaccine is effective for the life of the traveller. Some countries require an International Certificate of vaccination for entry.

The yellow fever vaccine should be given 10 days before entry into the country of risk. There are different contra–indications to the vaccine and we will guide you on these.

We provide assessment, vaccination, and certification.

All travellers will also receive a full MASTA health brief. This gives information regarding health risk including vaccination requirements, malarial maps, and recent disease and security information for the country or countries of travel.
